Nobody in Adonis wants to talk about the grapes. Looks like I'm going to be stuck here for a while until I find something.

Although when I was going through Moulin Rouge, I found something weird. They call them memory machines. Apparently the ruler of the city had a bunch of them manufactured when his beloved died and he wanted to preserve her memory. I have no idea if they work or not not many people need them, it looks like but I got one anyway, just to see.

If Adonis turns out to be a dead-end, then I'll go to Rusty Nail next.

That took less time than I thought. I left a note for Eyguebelle, and the train stops in pretty much every city on the way to Zaza, so I can use the computers when they have them at the stations. They'd better have them in Adonis. I don't know which ones have computers or not, so if you don't hear from me for a while, that's why. Once I reach Zaza I'm going to have to try to hitch a ride with a caravan or something to Adonis, though. It's just on the border of the Drylands, and they say the sands are too loose for the train tracks.

At least the trip isn't boring.

Sorry I haven't been around, there's been a lot of changes lately. Eyguebelle and I came to an agreement over Gramps' songs. Eyguebelle still thinks they're potentially dangerous if left the way they are, so we're changing little things in the score so that I can sing them. I kind of like it that way . . . it's kind of like Gramps' dream and mine, put together into one.

The city council finally took a vote to change the city's name. Merry Widow is the threnody of a funereal past, and an aria slips from the new lips of Widow's Kiss. :)

Speaking of arias, there's a musical that's been pieced together to celebrate the naming, and I've been invited to perform. It feels kind of strange to be rehearsing on stage, preparing to sing alone for the first time in . . . ever. But I guess I missed the rehearsal process, too. It's always nice to get together and practice with other performers before the show. Even if I don't know them that well.
