You poor thing THEN WHY ARE YOU ON.

Okay, ohgod. Um.

Katara: Fellow water-user! She found Demyx really interesting, namely because they share a power but he's so different from her, both in the water-using and in terms of personality and culture-traits. He reminds her a little bit of an older, dorkier Aang, so that endeared him to her a bit subconsciously. She regrets not getting to meet him face-to-face, and she would have liked Aang to meet him too. Sokka is just a side-benefit. Although she wonders if Demyx might've been able to help Toph loosen up some.

Aya: She never did find out about the Nobody thing, huh? Basically, Akira kicked her off the comm because he thought it was taking up too much of her time. 8D; She sometimes wonders what Demyx is up to; she wouldn't mind dancing to his playing again, and thought he was a little mysterious for all his cheerful façade. Their jam session encouraged her to be a little more earnest in her dive into modern dance.

Cloud: Knows next to nothing about him, personally. Cloud isn't famous for having a high patience ratio, but Zack keeps talking about him and anyone who's good in Zack's book is essentially good in Cloud's. Plus he's cheerful, but not as annoying as Yuffie. That's a plus. Don't get him wrong, he likes Yuffie. She's just . . . Yuffie.

Olette: If they had the chance to hang out more I think she'd consider him her unofficial big brother. XD She likes goofing around with him, just for fun, and has no intention into delving into anything serious unless he brings it up first. It's just not her nature. She does wonder a bit about his relationship with Roxas (and to a lesser degree, Axel), since it was never really made clear to her, but figures it's none of her business. Mainly she likes being around Demyx because he's one of the few people she doesn't feel compelled to be "the level-headed one" around. :D

Hayner: Booze man! 'Nough said. He's so shallow.

Rabi: He sees a fellow prankster, as it were, in Demyx. Basically, he'd like to plot with him more; plus he has an academic interest in the Nobodies as a Bookman, but he's still poking gently at that, not quite sure about the best way to go about getting his information yet. Demyx interests him particularly after what Allen explained to him about lack of hearts, since Demyx seems to show the least effects, to his eye. He might wind up pushing the wrong buttons for Dem eventually, even though he means well.

-EDIT: AHAHAHAHA you made me break the comment limit. XD I have to split the thing.-

Alize: Ahahaha. I actually think I had her coming on to Demyx too hard, but that's because I was still figuring out her character, so just, uh, ignore that as a bad dream. 8D; She really does like Demyx, and wouldn't mind dating him, but she doesn't see the opportunity for that happening. The whole thing with the Invincible made her much more sensitive to tragedy, and she senses there's a bit more tragedy behind Demyx's story than he's willing to let on. Because of that, she always feels like she's walking on eggshells around him, a little bit, and she takes more care to choose her words around him and Axel and Roxas than she normally does, out of respect for their situation. We have yet to see her temper actually sparked by any of them, though, and she's pretty direct and stubborn when she's pissed, so she might wind up stepping on some toes if that happens. Or heck, maybe pushing Demyx in a direction he needs to go. She's all for bullying, if it serves the greater good (even if the person in question doesn't always realize it). She also likes joking around with him because it makes her feel like she's cheering him up, and because he's very social. Alize is big on social herself, and a lot of that has been missing in her life since Merry Widow went down and Eyguebelle took her in. The people in her town like her well enough, but none of them seem to know how to treat her, and being dependant on others due to her lameness is a HUGE thorn in her side. Which is why she's far more grateful to Demyx for taxiing her around than her pride will ever let her admit, because he doesn't treat her like some strange social puzzle, he makes her laugh, and he's basically helped her go make new friends who do the same. No matter what happens between them in the long run, she'll always remember him for that. Speaking of, I'd like to see what would happen if Jing showed up.

-EDIT: DAMMIT IT WAS STILL TOO LONG. DX SEE WHAT YOU DO.-

Zack: Ohjeez. Zack really likes Demyx, almost as much as he liked Cloud back when they were both friends in Shinra, and it has the potential to become just as binding a friendship. Zack finds a bit of a kindred spirit in him; they've both seen awful things and deal with it by turning a smile and can't-keep-me-down attitude to the world. Plus they both make an effort to get along with just about everyone, and Demyx is pretty much the only person who renews Zack's faith when he's questioning whether it's just not worth it to care about Kadaj any more. He'd like to see Demyx get his heart back, mostly because he can see Demyx wants it so badly, and he also has a healthy amount of respect for how damned hard Demyx just keeps trying at . . . well, everything. It very much impresses him. Plus Demyx didn't scare Cloud away or piss him off right at the get-go, and that alone takes some skill. 8D He's still kind of testing the waters around Demyx as far as finding out what he should and shouldn't be bringing up, but Demyx is evidently doing the same to him, and he's gratified and encouraged by that and considers it a sign that they're moving forward as friends. He knows that once Demyx and Aeris meet face-to-face they're more than likely to gang up and tease him mercilessly, but he is a-okay with that because he gets it from Aeris all the time anyway they are both awesome. He likes that he can do all kinds of things together with Demyx, including pranking and joking as well as talk about the serious stuff, something he honestly can only really do with Cloud and Aeris. Plus he wants to get to know Roxas better, as a good big-brother should, because dammit, he honestly thinks the boy needs one, and as soon as he feels like actually asking advice on the subject the first person he's going to turn to is Demyx. He considers him an equal, even if he hasn't done anything to overtly demonstrate this yet, and a tiny piece of him wishes they'd been friends growing up or something of the like. Demyx is obviously never going to quite overtake Cloud (there's not a lot that can challenge a bond forged through lab experiments and death by machinegun), but given time, and provided Cloud winds up accepting him, he has the potential to get damned close. Basically, Demyx has a friend for life, no matter what happens. And Zack totally wants to go out drinking with him sometime whut.

Easiest first. Cloud is just the dotting guy that Zack likes. Zack is cool, so Cloud gets points! But he's not too terribly important to Demyx.

Rabi</i> is similarly not that well known. He's an interesting kid and he's funny to banter with and it's not bad to have someone curious about HIM for a change, instead of Demyx having to work to keep the conversation moving. But aside from him being one of Allen's friends, not a big ping.

Zack is a cool guy, completely on Demyx's level. Demyx can still recognize a kindred spirit. They indeed have the potential to become very good buddies of the relaxed drinking sort.

Alize, weirdly enough, is probably the person who's touched Demyx the most. She was the only one who actually cheered him up when he was a platypus while he was still going D: about it. Their mutual interest in music is pretty powerful, since music is one of the things Demyx believes tie him back to genuine emotion, and he likes her humor. Definitely could have more interaction there.

Part 1, here we go again.
[info]alize_in_melody
2007-03-09 03:25 am UTC (link)
*DEEEEP breath ohgod here we go again*

Katara: Dooooesn't really know Roxas, although she's curious to know if he has powers like Demyx. And in MU only associates him as "that guy who hangs out with the red-headed jerk." 8D; She'd probably get along with him well enough if she knew him, although his taciturn nature would probably get on her nerves after a while. She might be a good arguing buddy for Roxas to vent with/at. |D;;;

Aya: Don't recall she knew anything about him.

Cloud: Can you say COMPLEX? Ahahaha, we already talked about this. Cloud is curious to know why Zack decided to (apparently spontaneously) adopt Roxas as his little brother, although he has issues with it in and of itself, because hey, he never got adopted. He has yet to realize that this is because Zack sees him as more of an equal and doesn't want to seem condenscending (ohohoho, silly Cloud). Plus, as stated, Roxas reminds Cloud of himself before . . . well, before he went off to try to join SOLDIER and all that shit went down. Actually, he kind of reminds him of himself in his early days in the army, too; or what he can remember--antisocial, wary, and somewhat wavering in moral commitments. The more he gets to know Roxas, the more this is likely to disturb him, but if he can get around it it would more likely than not give them something to bond over. I have the feeling that if he got comfortable around Roxas Cloud would probably treat him as more of an equal, probably serving counterpoint to Zack's attempts at big-brotherliness. He could certainly do with someone to have a quiet, sane conversation with. Zack's not always too great on that front. At the moment though, he's just trying to figure Roxas out. (I SUGGEST BONDING TIME, Y/Y). 8D

Olette: Y HLO THAR SANITY BUDDY! :D Olette doesn't really question why she feels like she's got a longer history with Roxas than she actually does; it's a puzzle, but it's a good thing, so like the practical little thing she is she'd rather not question it. She enjoys having Roxas over to hang out on his own--he's a break from Pence being exuberant and Hayner being . . . Hayner--but she also likes having him hang out with the group. She hasn't got any issues with just sitting back and observing rather than participating, and besides, it's fun to see him and Hayner egg each other on. 8D;; She's devious inside, Roxas; be careful! While she isn't the peacemaker, per se, when things get bad, she isn't afraid to voice her (admittedly pragmatic) opinions on things, so she's a good problem-solver if Roxas ever needs help with homework anything. If he ever needs to talk about something serious, she would also be willing to listen, but she's not so good at the pep talk thing, and like with Demyx she's not going to bring it up unless he does. She is also perfectly used to hanging around guys, and thus having to drag them home when they do stupid things, and because of this she is perfectly comfortable with Axel and Demyx. (Well, Axel had her on guard at first, but Kairi seems to have forgiven him and Demyx and Roxas say he's okay, so who is she to argue? Besides, Axel puts everyone on guard.) If Roxas needed help with something at the niche, she'd be the first to volunteer--she likes helping, and she likes adventure.

Part 2/3
[info]alize_in_melody
2007-03-09 03:26 am UTC (link)
Hayner: --on the other hand, would be the first to try to get Roxas to beg make it sound like he really needed HIM, and then would condenscendingly agree to help. 8D; To be sure, he considers Roxas a bit of a rival, but it's MUCH more friendly than the one he has with Seifer, as we have seen. :D Consciously, he doesn't know much about Roxas' fighting skill, but in the back of his mind he's got an idea that he could probably kick his ass. Nevertheless, bravado pride must be kept intact, and Hayner will never back down from a challenge no matter how stupid. If pressed, however, he would admit that he'd much rather lose to Roxas than to Seifer. He thinks he and Roxas and Pence should hang out more and do "guy stuff" together--he doesn't think Roxas gets out enough, and Pence isn't much of one for competitions, either. Hayner is very, very much a "Watch me, look at this!" and then "Now YOU do it and see how superior I am!" kind of person, and Roxas fits into that need quite nicely while still taking his ego down a peg or two. :D And if Hayner ever had something he needed to talk about that he couldn't bring up with Olette, Roxas would definitely be the first he'd turn to. He just feels instinctively that he can trust the guy. Even if his friends are a little weird. But no worries, as long as they provide alcohol!

Rabi: Preeeetty similar to his opinion of Demyx, at least as far as the Nobody thing goes. Rabi isn't exactly known for his tact, so again, there will possibly be stepped toes in the future. Plus he likes trying to get a reaction out of Roxas because he isn't as murderous as Kanda he thinks the kid needs to smile more, but again, stepped toes. 8D; He wouldn't mind having an honest spar with him, though. Plus he's good friends with Allen, so if Roxas honestly told Rabi to back off, he probably would. Temporarily, anyway.

Alize: Hmmm. Well, she'd certainly like to get to know Roxas better, and not just because, y'know, he's roommates with Demyx. She liked what she met of him at Christmastown, and while she's all up for teasing him, it's mostly likely in an attempt to get him to try something new--she likes showing people around and randomly exploring places, and she thinks of Roxas as the kind of person who'd appreciate that. Plus she's slightly interested that someone apparently so young would become a Nobody, but not enough to actually dwell on it. And you will never, ever get her to admit it, but he reminds her a little bit about one of the original choir members she grew up with, before Eyguebelle pretty much slaughtered them all. I'm getting the idea that she's sort of subconsciously trying to build herself a new "family" to replace it. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing yet. She cannot believe that he puts up with Axel as much as he does, and if she's around when a (minor) altercation comes up between them, she'll probably back up Roxas in yelling at him for being a stupid jerk. She reeeeally wants to teach him to sing because she thinks that everyone should know how or it's blasphemy and because she thinks it's fun and he needs fun things. But yeah, she wants to drag him around Widow's Kiss sometime, preferably when she's got her legs back. Other than that, she doesn't have much in the way of conscious plans for him.

Zack: He keeps making me write giant essays. D: Right, so, the most obvious angle is the spontaneous big brother angle--but quite possibly, also the most convoluted. Zack himself isn't quite sure why he decided to adopt Roxas (or Allen, for that matter), although he's operating on that thought that, hey, they seemed like they could use one. If he thought about it more he'd probably realize that it's because he thinks they've been forced to grow up too fast too young; neither of them really give off those "I've had a childhood!" vibes, never mind a happy childhood. Zack is a firm believer in keeping a little bit of your kid self alive and active, which he thinks is the best way to keep sane and stay a good and kind person. He also strongly endorses the whole concept of a mentor--which is his second reason for picking a big brother role over anything else--as Angeal was to him and as he tried his hardest to be for Cloud. He also idolized Sephiroth, of course, and began to look up to him too--and then Seph betrayed him and everything he loved and stood for, and then he failed Cloud (or so he believes, deep down), and we don't even know what happened to Angeal, he won't really talk about it. Zack knows all about failing role models. He does, in fact, still feel terribly guilty about his "failure" to protect Cloud from Hojo and stay alive, and every now and then he is slightly terrified that he'll wind up letting down Allen and Roxas too--but he made a promise, and even if they won't hold him to it, he sticks to his guns. This actually played a huge part in his decision to ask Urahara for a gigai--he feels confident that Cloud doesn't need him any more, even if Sephiroth showed up again, and while he adores Aeris and his friends, he probably wouldn't have had that much issue with being reabsorbed into the Lifestream. After all, he was already in it for years before Aeris came along. But he felt that if he did that he'd be abandoning Allen and Roxas, and plus by then crap was happening on the comm and he got tired of only being able to verbally support people. He really, honestly, with all his heart wants to really get to know Roxas and Allen as a brother and teach them how to be proper silly kids, and show them things they haven't seen, and help them out when they need support, and hell, maybe even teach them a bit of his fighting style or how to ride a motorcycle. Inconsequential things, maybe, but he thinks they're important.

But he feels that he's failing to get Roxas to open up to him, and he's barely able to get ahold of Allen any more, and he's progressively feeling, well, guilty about doing this in front of Cloud, because he feels like he's gypping his best friend a little bit. But Zack's best defense in the face of doubt is to straighten his shoulders, grin, and try harder, so once he's got his gigai he's probably going to redouble his efforts to get close to Roxas and Allen and show them that they've got someone to count on.

IT'S ALL ZACK'S FAULT I BLAME HIM. DX

Noooone of my characters really know Rikku (we should fix that) although Zack and Olette at least know of her and pretty much cheer her on for being willing to deal with all these crazies as a mod. 8D

Penelo. Hm. Zidane's kind of the only one who got to know her, yeah? He liked what he met of Penelo; she's optimistic but level-headed, a pretty rare combination in his opinion. Plus, she's cute, which never hurts. 8D He still thinks he'd like to meet her and the rest of the Ivalice crew in person, and not just because he's curious about just how similar their world is to his. He's always up for hanging with fellow thieves, provided they're (relatively) reputable, and female pirates are pretty few and far between back on Gaia (and damn, he totally wants a closer look at Fran's outfit), so he'd definitely like to get to know her better. He respects her intelligence, and they probably would have become good friends.

AXEL. >D They all think he's an annoying bastard. Let's see!

Katara: FIRE USER BAD. Okay, she's dealt with worse jerks, but his attitude totally fits her stereotypical view of Fire Nation people, and that alone rubs her the wrong way. Axel is an excuse to either snark or move far, far away.

Aya: Was annoyed by him, but in her opinion he's actually not as bad as Akira (not the least because she doesn't actually have to listen to what Axel tells her--not that she listens much to Akira anyway, but that's neither here nor there). Didn't get much beyond that.

Rabi: Actually kind of amused by him, for all his snark. I mean, come on, after Kanda Axel is nothing. Is tempted to start calling him "sunshine". Might start also stepping on Axel's toes about the Nobody thing, but Rabi's got the impression that Axel's one of those people who absolutely won't talk if they don't want to, so he probably won't try as hard as he might with Roxas or Demyx. Secretly thinks he's kind of badass.

Zidane: Thought Axel was a jackass. Did kind of enjoy snarking with him, though, and is curious about Axel's drive regarding Roxas. Or what he's heard of it, anyway. Probably would have wound up teasing him as a routine thing.

Cloud: Thinks he's a moron. End of story. |D; The only reason he bears any possible relevance at all is because he's connected to Roxas, who is connected to Zack. Plus, he reminds him of Reno. Not a good way to start off a relationship of any kind with Cloud. :D; If confronted with/by him, would probably just ignore him to the best of his ability.

Olette: Is gradually starting to suspect that deep (deep, deep, deep) down, he's a softy. Not that that puts her in any hurry to underestimate his temper, his impetuousness, or his way of dealing with things--she saw that first-hand when he kidnapped Kairi, and she's not liable to forget it soon. Now that she knows a bit more behind the story of the Nobodies she's a little more inclined to forgive him for that, if not entirely, but for her it's all in the past regardless so she tries not to dwell on it. She thinks he's on guard with people too much and would like to try to ease past that a little bit, if she could. This is partially because Roxas is usually around Axel, and she doesn't want things to feel strained between them when they're trying to hang out--stress =/= chillaxing. D: She hasn't seen much of him, though, and he hasn't exactly made any overtures of friendship towards her, and she doesn't expect him to. If they become friends, though, she'd probably be willing to talk to him most often--without snarking. XD Olette's just not a snarker, and if Axel tries to bait her, she will not raise. Calm conversation might be something he needs a little more of, anyway. Is also likely one of the few people capable of being alone with Axel and feeling (reasonably) safe while doing so.

(Reply to this) (Parent)

[info]alize_in_melody
2007-03-11 04:00 am UTC (link)
Hayner: Still hasn't really forgiven him for the Kairi kidnapping thing, and also knows that he's dangerous--thus, keeps at least one eye on him at all times when he's in the vicinity. Unless, of course, Roxas is also in the vicinity, in which case Hayner will be totally at ease because he is of the thorough and complete conviction that Roxas has Axel on a leash. (We're not quite sure how he came to this conclusion. Odds are Olette had something to do with it.) He's not quite sure why Roxas hangs out with the guy, but that's partially because Axel hasn't done anything to impress him yet. Also, Roxas hasn't really talked to him about Axel at all. If he did, it might do something to allay his fears.

Alize: Is actually getting to like him, a little bit. At the very least, he's entertaining, and this is the first time she's run across someone who can dish the snark back as well as she can. There are still moments when she finds him absolutely insufferable, and she'll do well to let him know that. She's curious that Axel and Roxas seem to have such a strong bond despite what Demyx told her about Nobodies, and might ask him about it sometime, because she gets the feeling that Axel is a little less touchy about those things than Roxas--also, Axel is usually blunt, and she likes getting straight answers. She under no circumstances likes having someone get the best of her, though, so the two of them are almost guaranteed to have a constant one-uppage sort of thing going on. If he really starts to get on her nerves, she'll just ignore him, but she likes getting involved in things so it probably won't happen often. She's also learned to take his snark at face value, so there isn't much he can say that she'll take personally. She's a little wary of the fact that he seems to have a temper and that he's reportedly dangerous, but she figures no harm, no foul, and as long as she doesn't wind up doing anything that she thinks will get him honestly pissed, she won't worry about it. She hasn't got a reason to be alone around him, anyway.

Zack: Not quite sure what to make of the guy. Axel doesn't actually remind him that much of Reno, or at least not as much as he reminds Cloud. Zack sees Axel as being less down-to-business than Reno, and also less liable to work in a group, since as far as he can see Roxas is the only thing of central importance to the guy. Which he approves of, actually; years in the army are no place for a homophobe, and Zack supports their relationship, for all that the two fight with each other (he thinks it's healthy 8D;). He knows he doesn't really click with Axel on a personal level, and that Axel's a kind of keep-to-himself kind of person, so while he's perfectly willing to be friendly, he isn't prying for any kind of binding relationship with him. He's curious as to whether Axel is as adamant about getting his heart back as Demyx is--Axel doesn't seem like it to him, but Zack's not entirely sure he can tell. He's not going to ask, in any case. He wouldn't mind having the chance to have the occasional chat with Axel, one-on-one, but he gets the feeling Axel doesn't like him too much so he doesn't have his hopes up. He would like to go drinking with him sometime, if only because he thinks it would be hilarious. Zack also thinks that Axel can be immature sometimes, though, and if he thinks the guy is pushing something too far with Roxas or Demyx or anyone else he knows, he's perfectly willing to put his foot down and tell him to back off. And while he's not afraid of him, he isn't exactly keen on getting in a fight with him either: Axel strikes him as the kind of person who fights for keeps, and regardless, he's an old-fashioned swords kind of guy, not to mention he dislikes hurting people. In summary: he likes him well enough, but thinks it's rather one-sided so he's not pushing it very hard.

As far as they've met them? XD I'm pretty sure none of my characters have met Albel or Aziraphale. Not many have met Namine or Larxene, for that matter. Hm. Oh well, I will speculate!

Olette: Would probably like Namine very much as an actual girl friend to chum around with; Olette is also gently encouraging, and might help Nam come out of her shell a bit when it comes to exploring and having fun. Plus Olette desperately needs someone to shop with--Hayner and Pence just don't cut it. XD

And--whoa, my cold just got the better of me. Will finish this later.

Which is just as well, because apparently that's how long it takes me to answer these things! ._.; I'll keep to active characters now, if you want me to do Zidane et. al just say so. XD And I'll skip Rabi because he hasn't met Aeris. (Although Olette dressed up as her for Halloween, did I ever tell you that? *was amused*) And my characters need to meet Kisa. D:

Alize: Doesn't know much about Aeris (or Zack for that matter), but what she's heard has her intrigued. She figures any girl who can have her boyfriend that whipped is bound to be interesting. |D

Cloud: Hoboy complex. XD He loves Aeris, but he's still not clear on how he loves her. She was the first girl to really flirt with him, since Tifa was too shy to, and come on, who doesn't love Aeris aside from Sephiroth but even he's questionable to pieces anyway? She's just so wonderful and lovable. But he can't ignore the fact that he had a crush on Tifa since forever before all the bad stuff went down in Nibelheim, or that he made a promise to her, one that still holds a lot of weight for him and that he intends to keep. If he wants to keep protecting Tifa, he reasons, he has to stay near her. And after the events of AC, he's felt that Zack and Aeris sort of let go of him and helped him move on, move beyond all the crisis and tragedy that he's been dragging around and that's been wearing him down for so long.

But now that Aeris is back in the gigai, things have gotten ridiculously more complicated. He isn't sure any more whether he's actually moved on. Aeris passed away before their relationship could really evolve into anything definable, and he's not quite sure how much of it was desperation spawned by their situation. Plus there's the whole issue of the passing away itself, which he still carries a lot of guilt over--not the massive block of I AM A HORRIBLE AND WORTHLESS PERSON WHO COULDN'T SAVE HER AND WHY AM I STILL ALIVE that it used to be, but enough for it to confuse his emotions. Plus, Zack is back too. Which he is insanely happy about (or as much as Cloud ever is), but he knows how much Zack loves Aeris and he can see she loves him back. So even though defining what it is he feels about Aeris might help, he's afraid to do it, because he feels that if he does he might wind up betraying Zack, and that's the last thing he wants. So he's just bottling it all up inside and letting it eat at him. Again.

On the less emo(tional) side, Cloud's happy just to have her back, and he's also happy because Aeris and Tifa were friends, and it makes Tifa happy (he thinks) to have Aeris back again too. And, well, everyone else. He's definitely going to want to spend time with her no matter how things turn out. And what Radiant Garden!Tifa said about him now having the chance to repay Aeris really struck a chord with him; he'll definitely go out of his way to help her with anything she might ask. He is also, however, probably going to be uber paranoid about protecting her. He knows she has Zack to protect her too, and that she can protect herself as well, but Zack isn't what he used to be, both physically and in terms of skills, before he died, and, well, to put it frankly, Aeris being able to protect herself didn't stop her from dying. He's terrified of the idea of it happening again. If there's ever a period where she disappears for a while and he doesn't know where she is, he's going to have a panic attack.

The silly puppy up next! (Since I'm pretty sure not much else is going to fit on this one. XD)
